Inspiring potential new build buyers by showing them every step of their future homes’ journey.

Project overview
Miller Homes are a large UK based house builder. They wanted a creative way to outline the process behind buying a new-build home and the journey they’ll go on with Miller Homes.
The intention behind this was both to inform and excite potential customers and reassure buyers that the process is easy.
The Challenge
Miller Homes wanted to work with us to create a unique and inspiring way to outline the journey a customer would take when buying a newbuild property. It needed to include technical information about the process such as financial requirements and paperwork, as well as some more inspiring aspects like personalisation and appliance selections to get customers excited about buying their new home.

Users and audience
The primary target audience for this project were potential customers deciding whether to purchase a newbuild property, as well as those who have already decided but want to know more about the journey that lies ahead of them during the build.
My role
I was responsible for both the UI design and illustrations produced for this project. I also regularly presented back to the client to ensure the work we were producing met their expectations while also providing them with important updates relating to the project.

The output
I liaised with the client to decide on an illustration style for the customer journey by providing them with style tiles showing potential creative routes. In parallel to this I created a wireframe and storyboards to show how the content would flow once designed and animated.

Whitelabel component library
Once the visual style had been agreed upon I started populating the low fidelity designs with the static illustrations, allowing the client to see how the page was looking.
The approach
In the meantime I was working with the animator to bring the illustrations to life. These were mostly animated using After Effects, but I was able to animate some of the simpler visuals in SVGator. We supplied each animated visual to the client for sign off and then to the developers who could drop it into the site to be triggered on scroll.

ThemePark 2.0
ThemePark would also be the home of all of the brand guidelines making it a one-stop-shop for all information designers might need.
ThemePark 2.0
By utilising Figma’s Live Embed feature, we were able to preview Figma frames directly onto ThemePark, meaning any updates made to designs in the component library were automatically reflected on ThemePark. The Figma Live Embed frame is linked to the component and page url through a component ID on the content spreadsheet.
